Welcome to the Markham Skating Club
Welcome to the Markham Skating Club. Since 1964, the Markham Skating Club has been committed to the development of skaters of all ages in our community. We have learn-to-skate programs for children, teens, and adults. We have programs for more advanced skaters up to Gold Level testing. We also offer the SkateCanada "PowerSkate" program for those wishing to refine their skating skills for hockey, ringette, or figure skating.
Our Mission: From building a solid foundation in skating skills to helping individuals reach their goals and dreams, our ultimate mission is to inspire a life long love for the sport of skating.

This is a friendly reminder for all skaters registered in the Novice level.
Although additional private coaching is only mandatory for Junior level and above, it is recommended to start at the Novice level. To begin testing the disciplines, progress and improve overall skills through individualized training, a skater will need private lessons from a coach. The number of private lessons per week will depend on each skater’s goals. The more lessons a skater has, the faster they will progress.
A list of our professional coaching staff can be found on our website here, where you can find bios and contact information. To book private lessons, please contact the coach of your choice directly for more information.
If you already have a coach, please email the office with your coach's name so we can update our system.
If you have any questions, please contact the office at info@markhamskatingclub.com.
Thank you,
MSC Board and Staff
PROGRAM ASSISTANT INFORMATION
Our coaches, and our newest little skaters, rely on Program Assistants (PAs) to help our professional coaches during the Pre-CanSkate and CanSkate sessions.
Program Assistants receive FREE training, plus a discount on their session fees, AND the hours count toward high school volunteer hours!
Skaters are eligible to be a PA if they are registered for the Fall / Winter Junior session (or above) AND are between 10 and 19 years old.
If you would like to be a Program Assistant, this year's training session is mandatory at the Markham Village on Saturday, September 20th, (this date is tentative and updates will be provided). Training is both on-ice and off-ice, so don't forget your skates! Refreshments will also be served.
Your help is so important to our littlest skaters; please contact the MSC office at info@markhamskatingclub.com if you have questions or if you can join our PA program.
